Players Leaving Ruins Matches:
It comes to no surprise that if a player is disgruntled with losing a match they are likely to leave the current server they are playing in out of frustration. Normally in casual play this isn't so big of an issue, but since this Competitive matchmaking tracks wins and loses towards players ranking up, if a player leaves the game then all earned points from that match for all players left in the server now no longer count. It doesn't matter if your team wins or loses after someone has left the game because the server now makes it so that the results of the game don't count towards anyones score. This can be rather frustrating for players who have clearly put the effort in to win only to have a player or multiple players on the opposite team bail so that you don't earn any points for beating them. This also happens even if players leave for legitimate reasons not related to if they were winning or losing (like to answer a phone call). While you can't exactly blame those players for leaving for understandable reasons, it still spoils the rest of the match for everyone else. Sometimes a player may simply lose connection due to poor internet or a server error even before the server has filled with players meaning players join a server to immediately be met with a message telling them that the results of this match won't add anything to their rank. This results in players often just all leaving once this happens as they feel there's no point to playing.
Players not engaging with Team:
It's not uncommon for players to join games with other players who simply make no effort to communicate with the rest of the team. Often choosing to play any old class they feel like that doesn't benefit the team or not listening to their team mates when calling out for help or support. It can be rather irritating when the majority of the team is knocking their pan in trying to make an effort and then there's just one guy running around as a Spy trying to pull off fancy kills that don't help the team instead of playing the Medic the team so desperately needs to heal and stay alive. Sometimes you'll just get lumped with players who are new to the game completely and barely know which class is helpful and still won't listen to the more experienced players giving them advice.

For the most part, the game does well at matching up players of a similar skill rank into playing on the same server. Newer players will hang around with other newer players until they managed to rise in the ranks to more skilled opponents. However, sometimes there's just not enough high skill players to match with other high skill players. This then results in higher level players with more experience being lumped into servers with players who are perhaps just starting out and still learning the Meta and how Competitive tends to work. Even worse is when an entire team of high level players joins the server together and already have their co-ordination and communication down perfectly while the other team consists of relatively new players who all entered the game on their own without a party to work with and stuck with team mates they've never met before. The high level players end up just steam rolling the less experienced ones without giving them a chance to test the waters and learn things for themselves.
I may make one more post about this in the future to maybe talk about things I would like to see implemented into Competetive mode.
